TOTAL CABLE SOLUTIONS RELEASES NEW SINGLE-MODE HIGH BEND RADIUS FIBER CABLES

Bend insensitive fiber increases network uptime and ease of install

Fremont, CA – August 27, 2009 – Total Cable solutions (TCS) announced today a new product, Single-mode macrobend/high bend Radius patch cables. These patch cables are using Corning® SMF28e® XB that have improved bend performance when compared to standard single-mode fiber, yet is still backwards compatible. The Corning® SMF28e® XB is a full-spectrum single-mode fiber and is compliant with ITU-TG.652.D and G.657.A standards.

“This new product has a minimum bend radius of only 10mm, which is truly outstanding,” said Rob Esau, CEO of NextGig Systems, a Total Cable Solutions premier resell partner. “Even when installers take their time and do a superior install, there are times that installers are forced to bend cables past its capabilities that increases signal loss. The result of signal loss causes decreased network performance or even worse, cause network down time. Corning® SMF28e® XB cable is designed to increase signal integrity reducing possible network failures”

The bend insensitive fiber is designed to be used in all network installs and fits the FTTH market extremely well. As networks continue to see data rates increase, which decreases the margins of error, bend-induced attenuation will become more of a problem. Thus, Installing Corning® SMF28e® XB fiber will protect your investment now and in the future.

TOTAL CABLE SOLUTIONS RELEASES NEW SMALL FOOTPRINT UNIBOOT FIBER PATCH CABLES

Uniboot cables save needed space in the Data Center

Fremont, CA – April 07, 2009 – Total Cable solutions (TCS) announced today a new product, Uniboot fiber patch cable. The Uniboot patch cord places both simplex fibers into one jacket while still terminating into a duplex LC or SC connector. Typical fiber optical cables use a zip-cord approach, which means that both fibers are jacketed separately. The typical size of the jacket is 3mm which would result in a total of 6mm in width for a zipcord. The creative design of the Uniboot reduces the entire width of the cables to just 3mm. This design gives a space savings of 50%.

“Our customers’ feedback has been overwhelming about Gillaspy offering the Uniboot patch cables. The new Uniboot cables offer improved airflow and visibility of equipment in today’s high density networks. This has definitely had a positive impact,” said Joe Gillaspy, owner of Gillaspy Associates. ”The Uniboot product demonstrates our focus on bringing the best of breed products to the market. Customers are telling us that they like the unique serial number, part number, and length that are labeled on both ends of the cable for easy identification. This also helps cut installation time in half for most customers.”
